Workshop description:

Yoga and Ayurveda offer teachings that enable us to understand and live in harmony with natural and cosmic law leading to health and longevity. The food we eat and the way that we eat are crucial for good health.

This workshop will cover the essential principles of Ayurveda with respect to diet and nutrition. One of the key’s to optimum well-being is to digest our food efficiently, producing nourishment for the body and healthy waste products. Ayurveda has some unique insights into this subject. Understanding this process will enable us to eat well and feel well.

Workshop will cover:

  • 5 elements in food.
  • 6 tastes of food.
  • Digestive fire (agni).
  • Nourishment of body tissues.
  • Waste products (mala).
  • Toxins (ama).
  • Stages of digestion.
  • Weight management.

Steve had studied, practised and taught Yoga and Ayurveda for 17 years. He has qualified as an Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle counsellor with the American Institute of Vedic Studies and as an Ayurvedic Practitioner with Dr Deepa Apte of Ayurveda Pura Academy, London.
